Write 31 Days!

Oct 31, 2015

I began the month with doubts.  Not knowing whether I should attempt #Write31Days or not.  I wasn’t sure if I would have the time or enough ideas, and I didn’t want to start the month and not complete it like I have the past couple of years.

And here we are on October 31st and I did it.

I am not saying it was easy or that I always had something awe-inspiring to write about, but I did write something every day. And I didn’t have to resort to giving you a weather report every day!

Here’s what I learned this month:

1-In order to write, I have to actually write.  I can’t keep wishing and hoping that I will be a writer without actually doing the hard work. The more I write, the more my creative juices flow.

2-I have time to write.  I don’t have a lot of time, and sometimes I am tired and don’t feel like writing, but I do have a little time in my schedule (mostly at night after the kids go to bed) to write.  I have to make an effort to spend that time writing instead of zoning out on Facebook or Pinterest.

3-There are plenty of things for me to write about.  This month, since I was really searching for things to write about, I constantly thought throughout the day, “I should write about that.”  “I hope I remember to write about this.” God is always at work around me, and that’s what I want people to know and understand about their own lives.  I am confident that if I ever have nothing to write about, He will give me something!

So I am going to continue to write every day.  I’m not going to post everything on the blog, but I am going to finish up my New Year’s goal of submitting 6 articles for publication (I have only submitted one).  I think that’s realistic and will keep me focused and working.

I hope you enjoyed reading along this month.  I so appreciate those of you who faithfully read and give me encouragement!
