I know all you mamas are with me when I say that sometimes the afternoons seem to drag on FOREVER.  It’s like the seconds just drag by, and it is a struggle to find something to pass the time.  Today, I came up with something I am pretty proud of.

If you don’t know, sidewalk chalk is on sale big time at almost every store right now.  I scored a  24-pack for about $2 last week, and I bet in a couple of weeks it will be even cheaper, at which time I will be stocking up for the winter-kind of like a squirrel hoarding nuts.

The kids and I put that chalk to good use this afternoon by drawing a race track in front of the garage.  Well, I did all of the drawing while the kids rode their bikes and scooters impatiently around.  I had to threaten them a couple of times because they were getting a little to close to the track engineer.  It got a little dangerous out there for me at times.

Me back is killing me tonight from bending over so much to draw the track, but it was totally worth it because that track kept them occupied for a long time!

We had a lot of fun doing this today, and, unless it rains tonight, the track will still be there in the morning!
