It has been awhile (well, a week) since Charlie and I sat down and made something together, so I started looking around last night for some cool Thanksgiving projects we could do.  I want him to start learning about Thanksgiving, and he is really soaking up the information right now, so I decided today was the day!

I found tons of great ideas, printables, and videos online.  I kind of combined everything and came up with this:

Charlie and I really had fun making them.  The best part was getting outside to find the prettiest leaves.

Here’s how we made them:

1. We colored paper plates with brown crayons, then cut out a circle of brown construction paper and glued it on.

2. Glue on wiggly eyes, a beak made with a yellow construction paper triangle, and a wattle made with red construction paper (cut out like a heart).

We had to look up some information about wattles. Did you know that they actually change colors when a turkey gets mad?

3. We used a hot glue gun to glue on the colorful leaves that we found outside. We snipped off the stems before glueing them on.

Charlie was in charge of cutting off the stems, and I was in charge of the hot glue gun!

And done! Cute, huh?
