Ghosts and Bats

I know that I have already posted something today, but I just had to go ahead and tell you guys about this!  Plus, I promised on Instagram that I would tell you how to make these bats tonight, and a certain someone (not to name names, but Josh) is waiting with anticipation!

Aren't they cute?

Aren’t they cute? Maddie had to add a little pink to hers, of course!

These bats were SO easy to make.  The hardest part was cutting the egg cartons apart, but the job would be much easier with a pair of kitchen shears, I think.  I got the idea from http://www.dltk-holidays.com/halloween/meggcarton-bat.htm.  We used sequins for some of the eyes and I just happened to have some glittery foam triangles (leftover from last year’s Halloween pumpkin craft) that worked perfectly for the teeth.

The kids had a great time painting the egg cartons!  Charlie had a friend over today, and it kept them occupied for awhile!

We also made some ghosts today.  Remember the ghosts we used to make with the lollipops and kleenex? I used cotton balls and some scraps of fabric and ribbon that I had sitting around.  They turned out really cute and much prettier and more colorful than the kleenex version!

1. Place a cotton ball in the middle of a square of fabric-I used white but you can use any color.

2-Pull the fabric around the cotton ball. Add another piece of fabric or a piece of tulle.

3-Secure it with a piece of ribbon around the ghosts neck.

The kids made a couple of the ghosts, but honestly weren’t too interested in this little project!  I did enjoy myself, though.

I really like this one.

Maddie and I walked through the woods and found the perfect sticks to use for our Halloween tree!  Isn’t it great?

I do think it needs something else.  Maybe some orange lights?
