Last weekend while we were at the beach, we celebrated Jason’s birthday. He is a young 37 now, even though I keep teasing him and calling him 40!
Birthdays just get less and less exciting the older that you get, but one really great thing about having kids is that THEY get so excited about ALL birthdays! I don’t know if it’s because they get cake or get to see something on fire or what, but it adds a new level of excitement to an otherwise boring birthday.
They were so excited about signing Jason’s birthday card, then later that night they were so excited about Jason’s birthday cake. I could barely get the cake to him and I don’t think he actually got to blow out any of the candles!
It is such a joy to experience life with children!
They could hardly wait to sing happy birthday!

Jason is a wonderful husband and father, and he just keeps getting better and better the older he gets. I know that this will be a great year for him!

He doesn’t mind getting old(er) but he also doesn’t like talking about it too much. Some things are just best left undiscussed, I guess!:)
